Recipe Tips

  • Use good-quality tahini: Some brands can be too thick or bitter. Look for smooth and creamy tahini for the best taste.
  • Blend well for a smooth texture: If the sauce looks grainy, keep blending or add a little more water to make it silky.
  • Adjust the water slowly: Add water one tablespoon at a time until you get the right thickness—thick for dipping, thinner for dressing.
  • Let it rest for better flavour: The flavours blend and improve after 10 minutes, so give it a little time before serving.
  • Balance the taste: If it’s too bitter, add a bit more lemon juice. If it tastes too strong, add a little more olive oil or water.

How To Store Tahini Sauce Leftovers?

  • Refrigerate: Let the tahini sauce cool to room temperature, then transfer it to an airtight container. Store it in the fridge for up to 5 days. Stir well before using, as the ingredients may separate over time.
  • Freeze: Pour the sauce into a freezer-safe container, leaving some space for expansion. Freeze for up to 2 months. When ready to use, thaw in the fridge overnight and stir well before serving.
